Learn about First National Bank in Fremont

Fremont National Bank was organized in 1871, through a consolidation of the Hopkins & Millard and Richards & Keene banking firms. The bank grew over the next century, expanding its branches in Fremont and adding a trust company to its organization. In 1991, Fremont National Bank & Trust Company became an affiliate bank of First National Bank of Nebraska, and eventually adopted the First National Bank name in 2017. Through all the name changes, First National Bank continues to be the oldest and largest bank in Dodge County.

First National Bank has a history of doing what's right for our customers and the communities we serve. That's why we continue to build relationships with our customers whom we serve in communities across seven states.

Barry Benson | Market President

Raised in Newman Grove, Nebraska, Barry began his banking career as a Credit Analyst at First Commerce Bancshares before joining First National Bank in 1999 as a Commercial Lender/Business Banker. In 2014, Barry began his current role as Market President. Barry is active in community affairs, as a board member for the Fremont YMCA, Fremont Community Foundation and the Greater Fremont Development Council. He was previously the president of the Fremont Rotary Club. Barry’s hobbies include attending his children’s activities, Husker football, farming and ranching, and golf. He and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Fremont with their three children.

Todd Seawall | Director, Investment Management

Todd joined First National Bank in 2000 and has over 20 years of experience in the investment industry. Todd is a Chartered Financial Analyst and active member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Nebraska. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Todd stays active in his community by participating on the Board of Directors and finance committees at Fremont Family YMCA, and membership in the YMCA’s Men’s Club. Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, and playing golf any chance he gets.

Cindy Wragge | Director, Retail Branch Banking

Cindy joined First National in 2001, and managed Customer Service and Deposit Operations before assuming her current role as Director. She earned her Bachelors of Business Leadership at the College of Saint Mary, and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking, University of Wisconsin – Madison. Cindy has served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board in Fremont since 2011, and has been actively involved with the TeamMates Mentoring program as a mentor for ten years. Cindy is devoted to her family, and hopes to inspire her children to be passionate about helping others.
