Learn about First National Bank North Platte

First National Bank North Platte was organized on March 9, 1886, and opened its doors for business on May 10, 1886. Since that time, First National Bank North Platte has occupied three different locations in downtown North Platte, moving to its present location at Second and Dewey in September of 1967. In 1972 the bank’s name was officially changed to The First National Bank and Trust Company of North Platte. Our South Bank at The Mall was opened in 1972, to serve commercial and residential development. We also installed the first ATM in North Platte in 1979.

On October 15, 1988, First National of Nebraska, Inc., the largest bank holding company in the state, purchased First National Bank and Trust Company. From 1989 to 1991, the bank acquired additional locations in Alliance, Chadron, Gering, and Scottsbluff, enabling First National Bank North Platte to provide financial services to individuals, businesses and agriculture throughout Western Nebraska. In August of 1994, the Alliance National Bank was purchased and merged into our Alliance Branch at 124 West 3rd Street.

First National Bank North Platte has a history of doing what's right for our customers and the communities we serve that spans for generations. As one of the top banking institutions in Nebraska, we are proud to be a part of the First National of Nebraska family of banks.
