John Hoggatt is the Kearney/ Grand Island Market President of First National Bank, part of the largest family-owned holding company in the United States, First National of Nebraska.
Prior to his employment with First National Bank, John served as Business Banking Manager for the Grand Island and Kearney markets of Wells Fargo Bank, from 2000-2003. He was Executive Vice President and Senior Loan Officer of Overland National Bank, in Grand Island, Nebraska from 1996 to 2000. Through the years of 1994-1996, he served as a Correspondent Banker with the National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln. Prior to 1994 he served in various positions with First National Bank of Kearney; Assistant Vice President Commercial Banking, Credit Analyst/Loan Review Officer, Comptroller/Asst. Cashier, Reconcilement Clerk, General Services Clerk/Operations.
John is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, Leadership Kearney, and a member of the current Leadership Nebraska class.
His professional affiliations are numerous and varied, inclusive of the following: American Banker’s Association member, Nebraska Banker’s Association, Kearney Family YMCA Board Member, Kearney Noon Rotary member, Overland Trail Council/Boy Scouts Finance Chair, Rob Morris Lodge #46 member, Leadership Kearney Class #2 Alumni, Grand Island Education Foundation past Board Member, Grand Island Chamber of Commerce past Board Member, Heartland United Way past Board Member, and Diplomat to the Governor of Nebraska.
John’s interest in agriculture spans over 30 years in Commercial / Agri-business banking throughout Nebraska. An avid outdoorsman, John is President of the Central Nebraska Retriever Club, an AKC performance club that hosts field trials in the area, Commissioner of the Nebraska Game of Parks Commission and a member of Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.
