Kara is a Vice President for Agribusiness Banking. She calls Omaha home, but travels across the Midwest, serving customers in Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and South Dakota. Kara works with businesses across the agriculture industry, including cattle feeding, farming, swine, and grain, using her expertise and skills to create innovative banking solutions tailored to the operational needs of her customers.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role at FNBO, Kara responded by saying she enjoys the ability to think critically to help provide solutions for her customers and values the opportunity to educate them about how banks examine credit relationships. Kara feels most comfortable building excel spreadsheets for her customers and spending time in their offices at their operations.
Kara’s appreciation for agriculture stems from her youth, growing up in Ord, Nebraska. She began her career with First National Bank as a credit analyst before moving to the relationship side to work more closely with customers. Kara has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Hastings College and is actively involved with Young Professionals in Agriculture.
Kara loves to learn and connect with others, which drives her hobbies outside work. When she’s home, you will find her reading, cooking, and gardening. If she’s travelling, she may be in South Africa, Morocco, Peru, or another far-away destination. Kara tries to be active as much as possible by running, biking, and practicing yoga.
I find joy in developing relationships with our customers that allow me to develop an in-depth understanding of their business and offer a different perspective on solutions for their operation’s needs. I aim to listen deeply, so I can bring value to every customer relationship.
