Karen Klerman

Karen is a Senior Director of Community Banking at FNBO, with a particular passion for real estate finance. In this role, she originates acquisition, construction, value-add and term loans secured by most property types including office, retail, industrial, hospitality and residential (both for rent and for-sale). In addition, Karen collaborates with other bank advisors to identify and implement the best treasury management, deposit, foreign exchange, credit card, and wealth management solutions for her customers. Karen values the relationships she has cultivated during her decades of living and working in the Denver metro areas. Now at FNBO, she is pleased to reconnect and continue providing great service to her valued and trusted clients and establish new banking relationships.

Credentials

Karen also has experience leading the Investor Real Estate Group for the Colorado Region of a national bank, managing a team of six lenders across Colorado, Montana and Wyoming. She also previously acted as a Private Banking Advisor, working as part of a team dedicated to meeting the comprehensive wealth management needs of high-net-worth clients. Karen has worked at major banks and financial services companies and has been involved in CMBS lending, workouts, and syndications.

Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. She was recently appointed to CU Real Estate’s International Advisory Board and has been an active member of NAIOP and ULI.

Passions

Karen carries her enthusiasm for helping people outside the office where she remains dedicated to offering support to her fellow community members through a variety of charitable roles. Following ten years of service on the Board of Boulder Housing Partners (The Housing Authority for the City of Boulder), she now volunteers as a Board member on the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless.
