As the Sr. Director of Business Owner Advisory Services at First National Bank, Laura brings her experience working with business owners, and as a former member of a family business, to the Business Owner Advisory Services team. With an extensive background in business and estate planning, Laura is well qualified to help others plan for business transitions. Laura is passionate about helping business owners achieve their goals, and she understands the importance of preserving personal and business legacies.
Laura is a lawyer by degree and spent the first ten years of her career in private practice with her father and brother. During that time, Laura specialized in business law, estate planning, and banking law. She brought her considerable skills and talents to First National Bank in 2019 as a Director of Trust Services. She moved to her current role in February of 2021. Laura holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska as well as a Juris Doctorate degree from University of Nebraska College of Law. She remains a member of the Nebraska Bar Association and the Lincoln Country Bar Association.
Laura fully embraces family life in her spare time. Visits to the lake or taking advantage of the extensive walking trails in her community with her husband and daughter top her list of favorite things to do.
She is a strong proponent of community service and practices what she teaches as the past President of the North Platte Public Schools Foundation. She has also dedicated many free hours to the Great Plains Healthcare Foundation, acting as both the Annual Giving Chair and Foundation Gala Chair. She currently serves as a buyer for the Goodfellow Shoe Fund, and as a member on the University of Nebraska College of Law Dean’s Advisory Board, and the Nebraska Foundation for the Humanities.
I enjoy helping clients develop plans to meet their needs, and the needs of their families and communities.
