Kurt is the Chief Investment Officer responsible for developing and implementing investment strategies for the Wealth Management division at First National Bank. This includes leading the Asset Allocation, Equity, Fixed Income and Manager Research committees. In addition, Kurt manages investment portfolios for high net worth and institutional clients.
Credentials
Kurt joined First National Bank in 2005 and has over 30 years of experience in portfolio management. Previously, Kurt was the head of international equities for Principal Global Investors, as well as president of his own asset management firm.
Kurt is a holder of the Charted Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Colorado. Kurt earned his Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and his Master’s degree from Drake University.
Passions
Kurt lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife, Joanna, and has two grown children, Danielle and Logan. They moved from Des Moines, Iowa in 2005 and fully embraced the city’s active culture. When not studying the markets, Kurt can be found training for triathlons and hiking in the mountains. When relaxing, he enjoys socializing with family and friends and playing golf.
