Chris Melin
As a Director of Community Banking, Chris helps businesses propel growth, by facilitating access to working capital. One thing he loves about his role at FNBO, is the chance to work with a variety of businesses and witness their different approaches to success. He enjoys playing a part in each customer’s growth, by assisting borrowers in all aspects of the lending process, from understanding borrowing criteria to mitigating risks. Chris feels it’s his role to keep the lines of communication open and to be there to assist his clients in any way he can.
Credentials
Chris’ career in banking began over two decades ago when he took a role as teller. Fascinated by the retail and operations side of the industry, he quickly entered a Management Training Program, a decision that ultimately led to junior and senior banking roles in commercial lending. In 2009, he joined a client’s operation to learn lending from the business perspective. Chris now brings both aspects of his experience together to serve commercial clients at FNBO.
In addition to earning a college degree , Chris has completed a full-time Management Trainee Program, where he learned from a broad range of banking topic areas, such as Credit Training, Accounting, Series 7 General Securities License, Life and Health Insurance Licenses.
Passions
Chris’ life outside of banking is full of community service, including over 3 decades of work with several cancer-related organizations, soup kitchens and other important causes. In his free time, he enjoys attending sporting events, supporting local football, baseball and basketball teams. Finding time to get outdoors is also important to Chris. Hiking with his wife and dog are always priorities as is golfing with friends and colleagues.
