Laura O'Connor

Laura is a Director in our Private Client Services area of Wealth Management. As a Private Client Advisor, she aids a hight net worth client base to meet their overall wealth management objectives, while navigating various life stages including wealth accumulation, preservation and transfer. Historically, she has focused primarily on their investment management needs, but works to bring in a variety of team members to meet various services including deposit, trust, lending and overall financial planning.

Laura also manages our Client Service Managers, who serve as daily guides for clients to access Wealth Management resources and solutions. In that role she leads a team of dynamic individuals who are accountable for account administration and developing their relationship management skills through ongoing training and communication strategies.


Laura serves on the Relationship Managers Summit and Customer Onboarding committees. Laura joined First National Bank in 2002 as a management trainee before joining the Wealth Management group in 2003, where she has had a variety of roles in marketing, business development, project management and client services.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Finance and Minors in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She continued on to earn her Master in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Laura is a Certified Wealth Strategist® Designee through Cannon Financial Institute and holds Life, Health and Annuities Insurance Licenses, Series 7 and 66 Securities licenses. She maintains an active membership with the American Heart Association, Lutheran Family Services Guild, and Leadership Omaha.


Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and especially cherishes her weekly grocery shopping trips with her daughter. She also likes to golf, read, and an occasional ping pong game. Laura is passionate about her community and volunteers with the American Heart Association and Nebraska Children’s Home.
