As a DeKalb, Illinois native, Hayes brings distinct advantages to his role as Director of Community Banking. Drawing on an extensive network of contacts, he connects his business clients with the resources and relationships needed to overcome challenges and unlock new growth opportunities. He is a dependable partner, always available when customers need banking solutions or guidance in reaching their business goals.

Credentials

Hayes’ credentials are rich in banking experience. For the first 7 years of his career, he fulfilled positions as Personal Banker, Commercial Portfolio Manager and Business Relationship Manager, while also overseeing investment properties in the Sycamore area of Illinois. Hayes spent the last four years as a Licensed Real Estate Broker, growing his own real estate business, before making the transition back to banking with FNBO. Hayes’ education is as varied as his experience, encompassing a Bachelor of Administration in Management from the University of Iowa and a Master of Arts in Teaching from University of Saint Francis. He takes pride in bringing a diverse set of skills and connections to FNBO customers.

Passions

Hayes spends his free time with his wife and 2 children. When they aren’t involved with projects around the house, they enjoy getting outdoors and putting in time at the family vacation home on Lauderdale Lakes. Hayes also enjoys watching Chicago sports and the Iowa Hawkeyes. His community associations are many and include volunteer positions with organizations such as Dekalb Area Renters Association, Dekalb Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
