Amelis Long
Director, Belonging & Employee Programs

Amelis joined FNBO in 2016 and discovered a passion for helping people navigate individual and cultural change, drawing on prior experience in product education, sales, recruiting, and talent consulting to blend storytelling, empathy, structure, and big-picture thinking in support of workplace belonging. Before FNBO, she worked as an Office Director, Rehabilitation Counselor, and Evaluator for Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and a master’s degree in counseling from Creighton University, serves on the boards of Madonna Ability Alliance, Learning For All, and Skutt Catholic High School, and volunteers at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, kids, and dogs.

David E. Cota
Executive Vice President, Banking

David joined FNBO in 1999 and now leads the Banking Division, which includes Retail and Small Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth, Commercial Payments, Bank Operations, Product, and Marketing. He serves on the Boards of First National of Nebraska, FNBO, Lauritzen Corporation, and Northland, and chairs the Impact by FNBO steering committee overseeing community development and corporate philanthropy. A graduate of Texas Christian University, David is active in the Omaha community and has served on numerous non-profit boards, including his current board roles with the Greater Omaha Chamber and Children’s Nebraska.
