Answers to Your Money Movement Questions

To add a biller, you'll need the following information, most of which can be found on a recent billing statement from your biller:

  • Biller Name
  • Your Account Number with the Biller
  • Biller ZIP Code (associated with the address where payments should be mailed)
  • Full Biller Mailing Address (required when the biller is not eligible to receive electronic payments)

Tip: Keep a recent billing statement handy when setting up a new biller. It's the easiest way to ensure all details are entered accurately.

  • Online: Pay & Transfer > Pay Bills > Add Biller
  • Mobile: Pay/Send > Pay Bills > + Sign

Access to BillPay is complimentary with any FNBO checking account, however some fees apply:

  • BillPay Expedited Check Fee: A $35 fee will be assessed when expedited processing is selected for an eligible outgoing check payment.

Scheduled payments are only visible to you on your individual profile when they are in a pending/scheduled state. Once the payment processes and the funds have been debited from your account, transactions are visible in the account details for all account users.

Your default funding account is the primary account bill payment transactions will be paid from. Savings and Money Market Accounts cannot be used to fund BillPay transactions.

To set or change a default funding account:

  • Online: Pay & Transfer > Pay Bills > Activity > ⚙ > Settings > Default Funding Account
  • Mobile: Pay/Send > Pay Bills > Activity > ⚙ > Settings > Default Funding Account

The payment method is determined by the biller’s capabilities to receive electronic payments. When you add a biller, our system automatically validates whether they can accept electronic payments. Based on this validation, the system will display how payments to that specific biller will be sent, either electronically or via paper check, so you can plan accordingly and understand expected delivery times.

  • Send/Scheduled Date - For electronic payments, this is when funds are withdrawn from your account. For check payments, this is when the check is issued and sent out.
  • Deliver Date - For electronic payments, this is the anticipated date the biller receives the funds. For check payments, this is the expected date the biller might receive the check.

It depends on the payment method. If the payment is sent electronically, it's generally delivered to the biller on the business day following when funds leave your account. If sent via check, the process takes longer due to mailing times. When you set up your payments, the calendar view will show you the anticipated delivery date and send date after delivery date for each payment based on the payment method.

If your scheduled delivery date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, your bill payment will be delivered the business day prior to the scheduled delivery date. The date funds leave your account automatically adjusts to an earlier date to ensure the delivery date is met.

To place a stop payment on your account, please contact an Online Banking Representative at 402-342-2265 or 800-642-0014.

  • Electronic payments are processed and debited from your account one business day before the selected delivery date.
  • Check payments are typically sent 5–7 business days before the selected delivery date to help ensure timely delivery. Funds will be withdrawn from your account when the check is presented for payment by the biller.

No, if your mortgage is here at FNBO you can’t pay it through BillPay but you can pay it through our online banking experience by clicking on the mortgage and setting the payment up in the mortgage portal.
